When in 1996 the Bazzar Caffe in Düsseldorf’s Old Town opened its doors, the modern coffee shop culture was still in its infancy. The coffee culture was limited almost exclusively to the German filter coffee. The small espresso was considered by many to be too tense and too strong.

Initially, the concept was that of a traditional Italian bar, just with bar tables serving a good espresso or cappuccino. However, it quickly apperared that the local audience was happy to seat and enjoy their coffee. That formed Bazzar’s today style with benches and chairs which by the way are of the Caffe’s production!!

(you find them on Bazzaar’s online shop!)
